What changes from town to town
Coastal Jefferson and Chambers County communities sit in the TWIA catastrophe area, where re-roofs must pass a Texas Department of Insurance windstorm inspection to earn a WPI-8 certificate. Inland towns in Hardin and Orange counties see more hail and tree damage. Older Port Arthur and Beaumont neighborhoods have more aging roofs and decking.
